Aging Healthfully

I think that I could always do some things better to help me age healthfully but as of right now I don’t drink alcohol, don’t smoke, and don’t really hang out with those that do (you know the saying). In all seriousness I workout, I eat fairly healthy, get as much sleep as possible, I try to not sunbath too much although I do love being outside. I attend all my check ups when it comes to my teeth and body. Overall I just do what makes me feel good. I truly feel better when I take good care of myself. You have to take care of you because nobody else will.

Aging healthfully is the way to do. It is much easier than people think to be healthy; just don't do anything that will affect you negatively in the long run. I think it is a blessing to be able to age healthfully. It's one thing to be old and another to be old and unhealthy. I like seeing old people walking around; I see them as old tanks of knowledge. Ha! Ha! I feel the difference too, when I take good care of myself. The body requires plenty of care to be at its best.

I was SO happy to see you be positive about this. I was very gloom and doom when I posted my blog =(. I feel like I do not do much good for myself but you made several good points...I do not smoke or do drugs, nor do I hang out with peple that do. I was also very excited to see that you included your teeth as part of maintaining your health. As a hygienist, I spend several hours a day educating and reminding people that their mouth is connected to the rest of their body and that one cannot be truly healthy without the other! Obviously, I take good care of my mouth so maybe I am doing more good than I realize. Now if I could drop my 20 pounds I would be great!! Ha ha!!!

I agree with you. Noone else will take care of you we need to take care of ourselves. People make the wrong decisions including smoking or drinking and d o no think about the consequences. We have the ability to make the choice to live a healthier life.
